Dear Sobu Homeowners,
Thank you for everyones time, and patients this week. We have made great headway in pulling the assemblage together. Due to not having 100% of homeowners signed we will work through the weekend to achive the needed 100%. I will update the blog on Monday with the status. Thank you to everyone, and the efforts that have been given to help complete the assemblage process.

Is there a clear answer to how many holdouts we have left? It would be wonderful to know what we are up against. I don't care who they are or what floor they're on....I just want to know how many. Thank you for the update. I look forward to seeing the 100% assembled message on Monday!
Does the fact that you do not have 100% indicate that there are still owners that need convincing or just simply not available to sign the contracts. How many owners are we talking about? Also, if persuasion is the problem, what tactics are being takened to increase the likelihood that the remaining individuals will sign? What is the overall likelihood that the remaining individuals will sign? What do these individuals REALLY WANT?!
Any new signatures?

I'm getting worried.
Any update?
The holdouts should read this as posted in the Atlanta Business Chronicle - January 17, 2008:
Barry Hotel Partners has pulled its planned hotel out of the $1.2 billion The Streets of Buckhead project.
Barry Hotel Partners has canceled its plans for its 1 Hotel and Residences in a venture with Starwood Capital. Barry Hotel Partners, a division of Barry Real Estate Cos., and Starwood Capital, was going to develop the 175-key five-star hotel at the corner of Peachtree and Pharr roads.
"Barry Hotel Partners has decided to pursue other opportunities in Buckhead and step away from our partnership with The Streets of Buckhead," said Chris Schoen, CEO of Barry Real Estate Cos. "When complete, The Streets of Buckhead will transform an area vital to our city. We will actively work with Ben Carter Properties to ensure a smooth transition for our portion of the development."

In addition the holdouts should truly realize that Sobu is REALLY NOT the only dirt in buckhead as posted by the Atlanta Journal and constitution 02/11/08 regardin our neighbor the Buckhead branch of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library: "Developer Ben Carter, the builder of the $1.5 billion Streets of Buckhead project, is offering Fulton County $24 million for the 2-acre site. He proposes demolishing the building, which sits in the middle of his eight-block redevelopment, and relocating the library to a future mixed-use building with condominiums and retail...Under his plan, the new library would occupy two floors above a parking garage. Patrons would gain entry via an elevator. An outdoor reading terrace is possible.
His proposal would give the library more space, and his price might provide the county with a small financial windfall.
"This is an opportunity for the county to receive some money — to profit," commission Chairman John Eaves told the library system's board of trustees, of which he is a member. "But it's also an opportunity for the library to be brand new and relocated to the same immediate area."
"I think that it's absolutely worthy of exploring," John Szabo, the library system director, said. "Once the Streets of Buckhead development is completed, the library site is not going to be harmonious with the overall development."
- if Fulton county sees the $24million as opportunity- why can't the hold outs see- its not my personal opinion but that of the AJC& The Atlanta Business Chronicle - I guess I will inundate the Fulton County Commision to not sell the library to Ben Carter- maybe then he will think about Sobu

Still waiting for the update on Monday of the status. It's now Tuesday evening. I'm assuming that no news isn't good news and that you were not able to get however many owners to sign. So did we lose another potential buyer?
Does no news = good news?
